The plant is located in the Roussillon Chemical Platform 50 km south of Lyon and belongs to the Silica Business Line. Designed and constructed by Evonik in 2002, the facility is fully integrated into the local silane Verbund and benefits from the infrastructure, industrial resources, and skills available at this industrial hub.

As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high quality-silica, the site produces specific grades of fumed silica sold under the trade name AEROSIL®. With their unique surfaces and amorphous nanostructures, these products offer a unique value proposition when it comes to applications such as silicone reinforcement, anti-caking agents, thickeners, rheological agents, and thermal insulation.
