A transparent safety concept

Soundly based knowledge and transparent information are vital to create confidence in CNT products. That’s why Evonik is closely monitoring the CarboSafe project conducted by Inno.CNT, even though it is not directly involved.

CarboSafe is investigating the potential release of CNTs in the workplace and the environment and their impact. To permit accurate analyses, the project is developing accurate new measuring technologies. This should provide clear evidence of the rate of release of nanoparticles in the lifecycle of CNT-modified products.

In this way, it should be possible to identify and measure their ecotoxicological potential and evaluate the safety of these products for production workers, consumers and the environment. The project involves constant monitoring of national and international safety activities in the field of nanomaterials. The knowledge gained is constantly supplemented by the latest reports and project findings on nanotechnology safety.
