Advanced Intermediates

The Advanced Intermediates Business Unit enables its customers to take advantage of the latest trends in the areas of synthetics, environmentally friendly oxidation, biological fuels and agricultural chemicals. It is a leading supplier of large-volume specialty chemicals.

We use both standardized and customized approaches to improve many everyday products. Our products are in demand among a broad spectrum of the market: in biological diesel and other fuels, in the synthetics industry, in agriculture and environmental conservation.

Our strategic thrust is to concentrate on those regions expected to experience the most growth, with a special focus on globalization. In addition we offer solutions for current megatrends such as resource efficiency, health and nutrition. We are pioneering new technologies in most of the areas in which we do business.

Our activities are organized in four business lines: Active Oxygens, Agrochemicals & Polymer Additives, Functional Solutions and Performance Intermediates. We are represented at 26 sites in Europe, North and South America, South Africa and Asia. With approximately 3,100 employees, the Advanced Intermediates Business Unit achieved sales of €2.9 billion in 2011.
