Evonik’s Performance Polymers Business Unit manufactures monomers, polymers and sheet materials in line with customer and market requirements. These products are based on methacrylate chemistry, specialty polyamides and other high-performance polymers such as PEEK.

With its three business lines, Acrylic Monomers, Acrylic Polymers and High Performance Polymers, the business unit achieved sales of about €1.1 billion in 2009.

Product Groups

• Basic and specialty monomers: the standard sales range comprises over 60 methacrylic monomers; besides the bulk monomers methyl methacrylate, methacrylic acid and butyl methacrylate, it includes methacrylamide, hydroxyesters, crosslinking agents, aminoesters & quats and specialty esters, also for customized applications. The portfolio includes the world's most extensive range of technically available cyclic C8 and C12 synthetic products.
• Molding compounds and powders: comprehensive range of standard, impact-modified and specialty molding compounds: PLEXIGLAS®, PLEXIMID®, PLEXALLOY®, VESTAMID®, TROGAMID®, VESTAKEEP®, VESTODUR®, VESTOSINT®, VESTAMELT®
